Why I won an award

Hey healthy veggie,

when I was six years old, I distinctly remember receiving my ‘Home Help’ badge at Cubs (like Scouts but for little ones).

I remember it so well because as well as having to do the washing up, my mum signed off that I had ‘cooked a meal for four for the above meal’. I was amazed you could fit so many ‘for/four/s’ in the same sentence 😅.

But I did gain an interest in food, and soon learned how to cook omelettes and other simple recipes.

When I was 11 I won first prize in class for a salad I made, though our house had just burned down and I think the teacher was feeling a bit sorry for me.

When I finally left home at 18, I had a fair bit of cooking knowledge under my belt, and could certainly fend for myself.

Four years in Wales, a year in Australia and then many years in Germany and my ‘built-in’ favourite recipes are all encompassing.

Most of them are now online (though I am saving a few for new members this year).

A few years ago, it was my mum’s turn to come back to me and my brother James (our Nutritionist) for help. She had slowly put on weight over years and couldn’t shift it again.

We knew she needed more help than just a few recipes, so we put together a complete set of meal plans and programme for her.

And so The Vegetarian Protein Fix was born.

Over the years we’ve refined our meal plans and programme with feedback from members and clients to make it perfect for you.
