The three types of weekend

which one are you having?

Hey healthy veggie,

I hope you’re having an awesome weekend so far.

I’ve found that weekends generally fall into one of three different kinds. They are:

  • Slow/relaxing weekends

  • Active/sporty weekends

  • Hectic loads-to-do weekends

So in the interest of supporting those ideas, I came up with three breakfasts to keep you going, no matter what kind of weekend you’re having.

#1: The fabled, almost mythical, slow, relaxing weekend.

Ah, sooo good. Can’t remember the last time I had one though 🤣.

In case you’re lucky enough to get one and have more time than usual for a nice brekkie, here’s the one I’d go for:

An absolute classic in the Netherlands, this cinnamon-apple beauty was modernised by our great Dutch chef, Jansen. He made it far quicker to make and reeeeaally tasty! You can even serve it with squirty cream or ice-cream 😋.

#2: Active/sporty weekends

These kinds of weekends are when you know you’re going to use a lot of energy, whether it’s hitting the gym or hanging wallpaper (something I know all about at the moment 😅).

You need something bursting with energy and protein to keep you going, but you still have a bit of time to make breakfast. I recommend:

Especially when topped with banana or berries, and a little sweetener like syrup or honey. Delicious!

#3: The hectic weekend

These weekends are just go-go-go! The to-do or places-you-need-to-be lists just don’t get shorter. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t start the day right.

For a super-speedy yet mega-quality breakfast I never look further than:

So easy and so tasty!

Enjoy! Whatever kind of weekend you’re having :)

Huge fan!!

I’ve been following the high protein vegetarian plan for almost a year and love it. I like trying all their recipes, it saves time from finding my own, and they make it easy to follow. I’ve recommended friends to this.
