Lab Meat Banned

Hey there healthy veggie!

I hope you’re looking forward to the weekend. Here’s a quote to get you thinking:

“We’re fighting back against an ideology that ultimately wants to eliminate meat production in the U.S. and around the globe”.

That’s from Ron DeSantis, the Governor of Florida.

Florida has just become the first state in the US to ban ‘lab meat’. Italy banned it last year.

Lab meat is an idea that has gained motion in the last few years. Essentially, meat is grown in a lab from animal cells, and without harming animals.

In theory (and getting better in practice), it will look like meat, taste like meat and have the texture of meat. It will also have similar properties of proteins, fats, and so on.

Would you eat lab meat?

The idea behind it is to produce meat without the cruelty, death and adverse environmental effects.

That means that people who don’t want to stop eating meat (and let’s face it, we as vegetarians are the minority here) can still get what they want without the suffering of animals.

Which honestly, sounds great to me.

What do you think? Pen any thoughts here and I’ll reply: [email protected]

And here’s my question to you:

Would you eat lab grown meat?

Once it becomes cheaper and more common, will you try it? Could you imagine eating meat again if no animal was harmed?

Alright, back to the veggie food; it’s asparagus season here so risotto is back on the menu!

It’s soft, it’s creamy and it’s very tasty indeed! You can also swap the cheese for a little extra nutritional yeast and you’ve got a completely animal-free meal, too!
