How to make the holidays easier

Hey healthy veggie,

I hope you’ve had an awesome week so far.

This is the first year in a few that we won’t be heading back to the UK for Christmas, which is a little sad, as we love spending it with our family and friends ‘back home’.

But the dark months in Northern Germany have their own charm, too, and we’re looking forward to some cozy evenings in with visitors of our own.

Do you have any trips planned over the coming months? I’d love to hear if you do - I read every reply to these emails!

Keep It Simple

That’s the best advice I can give when cooking for groups (or large families).

The food should be:

  • Easy to make, as I want to spend time with the people, not the food.

  • A fairly wide choice of options so people can pick what they like.

  • Bonus points for less washing up!

This week I’ve been experimenting with:

Baked potatoes - the range of toppings is enormous and everyone can add their own.

Muhammara - a weirdly simple dip, with a load of sliced veggies that goes down well every time.

Over the holidays, the main courses will definitely be our two signature dishes.

Both of these are crazy popular on the site, and if you haven’t tried them yet, make sure this is the year you do!

I’m also working on a Chinese-style tomato-egg recipe that is super easy in big batches; I’ll share it as soon as it’s ready!

Calorie Counting - Secret Weapon or Harmful Practice?

In this week’s podcast, James digs deep into whether people dieting should calorie count or not. Does it do more harm than good?

Find out in this week’s podcast!

And if you’re a runner:

Be part of the 2024 RunDot Project.

This is an annual research initiative that helps runners reach their true performance potential. Qualified participants also get 2 free months of run training. Are you a good fit?

Have an awesome weekend you guys, rock on 🤘🏽
